PowerSource is a privately owned Australian company focused on the design of high availability, on-line, real-time computer systems with a special emphasis on the world-wide wagering and gaming industry.
In 2004 PowerSource entered into discussions with Media & Gaming about a strategic partnership since the two companies shared an industry focus.
After successfully completing a number of projects together, PowerSource granted Media & Gaming an option to buy the company. Media & Gaming are currently in the process of exercising that option. Both companies are now working under the Media & Gaming umbrella, with PowerSource contributing its technical expertise, and Media & Gaming assuming responsibility for sales and marketing.
Working closely together, Media & Gaming and PowerSource have recently deployed a Reactix Community Gaming system for At The Races, a London-based horse racing channel broadcasting live from the UK, Ireland, North America and Germany. Reactix is a message handling and transaction processing platform enabling cellular telephones to be used interactively in conjunction with all mainstream media, including television, radio and print. Reactix encourages caller interactivity by offering a range of game play facilities as part of trade promotions, competitions and opinion polls.
In January 2000, PowerSource were retained by Samsung SDS, Korea's largest system integrator, and the Korea Racing Association to provide technical consulting services for the duration of the 4 year implementation timeframe of the KRA's totalisator project. Specifically, PowerSource's role has been to assist both groups with the architecture, detailed design and implementation of the new Korea-wide parimutuel totalisator system. PowerSource's key role in this prestigious large-scale project continued until its completion in late 2004.
